With reference to your letter No. 1 in 134/1906,

dated 24th. instant, on the subject of the acquisition of land at

Mount Davis, I desire to point out that the Practice Battery site, Mount Davis, being situated on a good road is naturally more valu- -able than those higher up.

I therefore suggest as a fair price for the land we

require, 2 cents per foot premium and 880 per acre, Crown Rent, and trust that this will meet the view of the Colonial Government,

in which case War Office sanction will be asked for.
